Delete account

You can delete your Friend Tracker account at any time. This is permanent: your account, your friends, your events and your location history are erased and cannot be restored.

1. In the app (immediately)

  • Open Friend Tracker on your iPhone or Android device and log in.
  • Go to the Friends tab and open your profile (the profile button at the top right, or tap your own name).
  • At the bottom, below Log out, tap Delete account.
  • Confirm with your password. Your account is deleted immediately and you return to the welcome screen.

After that, you can simply remove the app from your device. Removing the app without these steps does not delete your account.

2. By email

Can’t log in anymore, or no longer have the app? Then send an email to info@laraben.be with the subject “Delete account”. Send the email from the email address of your account, so we can verify that the request really comes from you. If you like, include your username (handle) or friend code. We will confirm by email as soon as your account has been deleted.

3. What gets deleted

Data What happens
Account Name, email address, password (hash), username, friend code and color are erased.
Friends All your friendships disappear, in both directions: you no longer appear in other people’s friends lists.
Friend requests Requests you sent or received, email invitations you sent and invitations to your email address that were still pending are erased.
Events Events you created are deleted, for the other members too. You are removed as a member from other people’s events.
Location Your last location and your entire location history (normally kept for 7 days) are erased.
Pings and invitations Pings you sent or received and invitation links you created are erased.
Alerts Alerts you sent (with message and any position sent along), your responses to other people’s alerts and the list of whose alerts you muted and who muted yours are erased.
Devices Your login sessions on all devices are ended and the device tokens for push notifications are removed.

Data that is not linked to your account, such as the anonymous download statistics of this website (without IP address), is retained. You can read more about how we handle data in the privacy policy.

4. Timeframe

  • In the app: immediately and permanently.
  • By email: within one month of your request at the latest, usually much sooner. If we first need to verify that the request comes from you, that period starts once this has been done.
