1. Scope
These terms apply to the use of the Friend Tracker app (iOS and Android) and the website friendtracker.laraben.be, provided by Laraben BV (company number (CBE) 0756.758.069), Zandvoordedorpstraat 149, 8400 Oostende (Belgium). You can read how we handle your personal data in our privacy policy.
2. The service
Friend Tracker lets you add friends with a friend code or an email invitation (the other person must accept your request), create events and invite friends, and see on a compass radar in which direction and at what distance the participants in your event are — only during the event. Using the app is free of charge. We may add, change or discontinue features; if there are major changes, we will let you know in good time.
3. Your account
- You provide accurate information and keep your password to yourself.
- Your account is personal; you do not share it with others.
- You must be at least 16 years old.
- If you notice that someone else is using your account, let us know immediately.
4. Respectful use
Friend Tracker is made for finding friends who want to be found. It is therefore not permitted to:
- follow or monitor anyone without their knowledge or consent;
- use the app to harass, threaten or intimidate anyone;
- impersonate someone else or use a false identity;
- send email invitations to people you don’t know or who did not ask for them, or try to guess friend codes;
- disrupt, overload or hack the service, or collect data from it by automated means;
- use the app in breach of the law.
In the event of misuse, we may block or delete your account without prior notice.
5. Location and safety
Positions, directions, distances and walking times are estimates. They depend on GPS, your phone’s compass and the network connection, and may be inaccurate or delayed — especially in dense crowds or between buildings. So don’t rely on them blindly.
Friend Tracker is not an emergency service. In an emergency, call 112 or contact the emergency services, security staff or the first-aid team on site.
6. Beta version
The Android app is currently offered as a beta via an APK file on this website. A beta may contain bugs or be temporarily unavailable. Only download the APK from friendtracker.laraben.be — we cannot vouch for files you obtain through other channels.
7. Intellectual property
The app, the website, the design, the name and the logo of Friend Tracker are protected. You receive a personal, non-transferable right to use the app as intended. You may not copy, modify or resell the app, nor attempt to derive its source code, except to the extent permitted by law.
8. Liability
We do our best to make Friend Tracker work well and securely, but we provide the service “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damage, such as missed meet-ups, or for damage caused by inaccurate or outdated location data, malfunctions or interruptions.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for willful misconduct or gross negligence, and nothing limits the rights you have as a consumer under Belgian or European law.
9. Termination
You can stop using Friend Tracker at any time and have your account deleted via info@laraben.be. We may terminate your account if you breach these terms, or if we discontinue the service — in the latter case, we will let you know in advance.
10. Changes
We may amend these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. We will announce significant changes in advance in the app or by email. If you continue to use the app afterwards, you accept the new terms.
11. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Belgian law. We always try to resolve any dispute amicably first. If that does not work, the Belgian courts have jurisdiction; as a consumer, you can also always turn to the court of your place of residence and to the Consumer Mediation Service (consumerombudsman.be).
